Oblique Strategies

Oblique Strategies (Over One Hundred Worthwhile Dilemmas) is a deck of 7-by-9-centimetre printed cards in a black container box, created by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt and first published in 1975. Each card offers a challenging constraint intended to help artists (particularly musicians) break creative blocks by encouraging lateral thinking.

There have been plenty of incarnations of Oblique Strategies published on the web, but many of them are clunky and have little or no thought behind the design.

Being enormous fans of Brian Eno we don’t find this acceptable, so we took it upon ourselves to create a website + web app embracing a very minimal design focused solely on the text.
